Factual information about gambling is also available online for junior high and high school teachers from the Teacher Information Series. About gambling, from this series, is designed to help teachers engage students in discussion, group work, and experiential activities to learn about gambling, its risks, and healthier lifestyle choices.
Also available for junior high and high school teachers, principals, and councils is a school policy manual that offers practical information about developing a substance use and gambling policy. Information for teachers (e.g., prevention strategies, peer leadership, research on youth addictions, etc.) is also available on the AHS–AMH website.
The Problem Gambling Resources Network offers a free workshop and presentation, Adolescent Gambling and Problem Gambling in Alberta that addresses gambling among young people and targets youth in junior and senior high schools, as well as youth treatment programs.
