The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba (AFM) is a provincial Crown organization committed to being a foundation of excellence providing addictions services and supporting health behaviours. AFM's legislated mandate is to provide addictions treatment services and public education. The AFM offers prevention, education, and training services for professionals, paraprofessionals, and the general public. Its Problem Gambling Services team provides customized workshops, presentations, and service requests to agencies, workplaces, and organizations. The team also provides individuals in the helping professions (e.g., mental health counsellors, educators, social workers) with information and advice on handling gambling-related issues. Staff also develop and tailor training for specific organization needs.The Knowledge Exchange staff at AFM also offer the Understanding Gambling and Gambling Behaviour course to staff, students and the general public.
