The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba (AFM) is a provincial Crown organization committed to being a foundation of excellence providing addictions services and supporting health behaviours. AFM's legislated mandate is to provide addictions treatment services and public education. AFM employs over 400 staff and provides a wide range of addictions services to Manitobans. Its Problem Gambling Services team provides customized workshops, presentations, and service requests to agencies, workplaces, and organizations. The team also provides individuals in the helping professions (e.g., mental health counsellors, educators, social workers) with information and advice on handling gambling-related issues. Staff also develop and tailor training for specific organization needs. AFM also offers courses to staff, students, and the general public relating to gambling - such as the Understanding Gambling and Gambling Behaviour course and the Youth, Substance Use and Gambling course.
